Een praktische checklist: eerst de blootstelling, dan kosten, omvang, liquiditeit en structuur.

Start with exposure, not fees: what index or strategy does each fund follow, and how different are the actual holdings? Two 'technology ETFs' can share 80% of their weight or almost nothing — the overlap tool here measures it precisely.

Then compare, in order: expense ratio (like for like), size and age (very small, young funds carry closure risk), liquidity (volume and typical spread), tracking record for index funds, and yield measured the same way for both. For international funds, add currency hedging and country weights; for income funds, distribution history and character.

Finally, read the one-page summary prospectus of the finalist. Ten minutes there answers questions no screener can — exact index rules, securities lending, fee waivers with expiry dates.
